Well I have been reading up on the cross border mexican truck program and have to say that I do not see why this should be allowed. I know that on Friday The Federal Appeals Court denied cases by OOIDA and the Teamsters Union.
I for one do not believe that the requirements for CDL traning and the medical requirements are on an even scale with the United States. I do not believe that the mechanical requirements are the same for mexican trucks versus US trucks. I understand some of the reasons for the agreement; mainly the monetary part. Mexico will drop 2.4 billion in retaliatory tariffs on goods going into mexico. Is this not also costing us jobs and income for the US trucking industry. Your thoughts and clarifications would be helpful.
